i have been researching film schools alot, trying to find a school to give me technical knowledge, creative guidance, and business wisdom-i cant find one school that gives all that.it seems like they all have strength in one.and not one school has told me that they will teach me what to do after i leave, how to get a job, what this or that actually Qualifies me to do,what do the people i'm going to be trying to hook up with want to see.so there's those issues, and after all this research i am left with the feeling that if i go to school for film it's going to be all these rich kids (the schools are expensive as hell) whose parents buy them their equipment...and i'm just wondering if i should spend my money on epuiment instead of some fru-fru school because i am very poor.and i cant get into a university because they dont like my kind in those places..ahh bureaucracy....and i'm just freakin and need some advice about this stuff ahhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!help me seymour, help me!!

If I were you I'd spend the cash on equipment and funding and get making films.
But then I'm pretty new to this so...

Maybe there are some books that'll tell you whet you want to know. I am sure someone here knows of some.

I am at uni at the minute doing moving image. I looked at lot at film courses at uni but a lot were theory based, this one however has a good balance of theory and practical. But my mum and dad make so much a year and they have 2 pay for my education. But my other friends at uni are having their education paid for them by the local education board. So you can always but in with your local concil people.

The very last thing you should do at this point is spend all your money on equipment.
Equipment gets dated, equipment breaks, equipment needs repairs, etc.
If you can't find a film school that suits your fancy where you can use all of THEIR equipment, try looking into film workshops; like summmer-long or semester-long courses that focus on specific aspects of filmmaking.
I'm from the USA and in Rockport, Maine there is a place called The International Film & Television Workshops.
http://www.FilmWorkshops.com
Check it out....there are classes on almost anything. The advantage of learning from a workshop is that once you go out in the world, all prepared to make your first feature or something, you won't waste time and money learning how to use equipment. You can rent it, use it efficiently, and then once you make money on the finished film, only then worry about buying equipment, when you actually have some serious dough to spread aroud. These classes are definitely not a college-experience, but more comprable to intensive, crash-courses.

It's always easy to think posh people always get the breaks - and yes they do, but that doesn't mean you have to suffer.. I did my film degree at LCPDT London Institute and loved every minute of it.. okay it was 50 50 theory/practical but was grteat.
The facilities were top notch and I still go back there now and use the stuff for free. And it wasnt full of posh people.. most were mature students from council estates - having their funds paid for by the education authorties.. In fact at 18 I was the youngest to have ever done the course.. and i got all my fees paid to (and luckily got a full grant - piss poor parents!)
What they teach and what you get out of it is completely up to you! You've got to research your own stuff but people will alwaysd gladly help u. And it is a place to make useful contacts.. Remember - you can always ask questions!
